Dogs

We have three Aussies (Olivia, Murray and Huckleberry) – the first two minis, and a Coton de Tulear (Dobby). They keep things interesting, and are more trustworthy than many humans I have known.

Murray

We call Murray the sheriff. If I tell another dog to do something and they don’t listen, Murray takes care of it. He is my enforcer, and easily the most loyal dog I’ve ever known. If there’s ever any trouble, I have no doubt Murray would protect us all with his life. I know this because he has saved us many a time from a delivery truck that has come to kill us all.

Olivia

Olivia is a loud-mouthed, bossy, nosy, busybody. But she does have a softer side that shows up now and then. She is aloof when I’m home, but she throws a fit when I leave for work, and lays by the door the whole time I’m gone. She’s the smallest of the Aussies, but she takes zero guff from these boys!

Huckleberry (Huck)

Huckleberry, or “Huggy Bear” (as I sometimes call him) is my velcro dog. Anywhere I am in the house or the yard, he is never more than a few feet away. In the garage, with saws and dust collector blaring, he’s right there with me. He’s a full on Aussie, fraidy cat, spaz who drools and never seems to stop panting, but he’s my full-time, on-the-couch, watching TV buddy, who particularly enjoys watching the dog shows, and agility contests – he stays riveted!

Dobby

Dobby is pretty much my wife’s dog. His attention span toward me is largely influenced by whether or not I have food. He was a puppy mill/disreputable breeder situation rescue. He was pretty normal for a while, but then certain things, like the toaster, started sending him into some episodes of severe anxiety. He’s doing okay for the most part. He’s getting up there in years now though, so he spends most of his time either sleeping, begging for snacks, or barking in the back yard at nothing.

Aussie Puppies

Olivia and Huck blessed us with a litter of puppies not once but twice! We have taken steps to ensure there are no more though. Puppies are incredibly adorable and fun to play with, but I’m here to say MAN are they WORK! Mostly what raising two litters of puppies taught us is that we do not want a third!
